stop

sun dried and lightly browned
accidentally basted in fragrant sage
and sprinkled in high desert dust
moisture beading off the skin
temperatures soaring
the cooling fans kick in
and now i’m back here
for just a few minutes now
to sit and have this daily reminisce
with some far off future
version of myself.

… and then off again.
