we all get just one ride around the sun

At 1:11pm today, true to self, after a casual lunch and a slow walk back to the revolving glass door, I looked up at something I don’t remember now, and then down at the time, and decided that three months was in fact enough of that, and that I was ready to test my wit and try my luck again. I’m not made for the sure thing. I’m not built to consider only the bank account. I think I make Shane nervous, though he’ll probably just keep grinning and shaking his head. I think I drive the kids crazy. I think I put myself in far more stressful, risky positions than a normal person could stand. And I usually do it with as little, random consideration or motivation as the switch in direction of a breeze, or the off-beat of a step on a concrete sidewalk.

Today it was the grilled honey ham, and the quiet after everybody else left the table.

truth, or

Enthusiasm is no simple or easy concept. It is a strong, rugged mental attitude that is hard to come by, difficult to maintain, but for those who wield it - deliciously wicked, dynamic and mighty.
