South Dakota Sunset

Between Pierre and Wall, where we broke down…and I mean really broke down…the day before, en route to Thanksgiving in Minnesota.
After nine days, seven of those on the road, we made it back alive last night. Can’t say the same for the Land Cruiser, which is still engine-less and sitting in a garage in rural South Dakota, waiting for a transport rig to pick it up and deliver it home to us. Despite a pretty traumatic 24 hours, when the dust settled (or the smoke, in this case), it could have been so much worse…and for that and lots of other things over those nine days, we’re especially thankful.
About 50 more photos from Thanksgiving and Sarah’s 15th birthday (Saturday) are over here.

Thanks for the photos, I got to enjoy the fun parts of your trip. Sorry about the trauma. You take such good pix, even with a phone. What is the model of the DSLR on the picnic table?
Thanks
Thanks Dave. The “real” camera is a Canon 20D.
i was just through there a few months ago…my brother and i took a road trip to South Dakota in September…and he moved his family to rural eastern SD a week later. glad you made it home okay. cannot believe Sarah is 15…WOW!

Thanks Marilyn, I’ll pass it along!
Fifteen?!? Couldn’t be.
Glad everything worked out on the trip back despite the breakdown~
Thanks, it was pretty hairy for a couple of days wondering how we’d make it work. And yes… FIFTEEN. Ack.
